Technicians at Radio France have ended a strike over pay after “progress” was made on their demands, AFP news agency reported on 23 December, quoting trade union sources. Managers announced a return to work at midnight on 23 December with Radio France stations, particularly France Inter and France Info resuming normal scheduling in the “hours ahead”. They said 18 out of 99 technicians had taken part, AFP reported.
The unions, CGT, Sud and CFDT, had agreed a rise of “a 90 euros gross for all staff after 12 months” in the back-up team that replaces permanent staff when they are on leave of various types, reported Sud. Managers had rejected a claim to revise salaries via a 200 euro monthly bonus, the agency said.
The strike which began on the morning of 21 December and was then extended for 24 hours created major disruptions on France Inter and France Info and on a smaller scale on France Culture and France Bleu, AFP recalled.
